FUNDRAISER for LAKE FIRE VICTIMS on SUNDAY, JUL 21 -- 5-8 pm @ EMS Bldg

Post date: Jul 10, 2013 4:22:7 PM

The Lexington, Elwood and Eustis Lions Clubs will be holding a pancake feed, raffle and silent auction from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 21 to aid the three families who are victims of the June 21 fire at Johnson Lake.

The event will be held at the EMS building at Johnson Lake, which is located at 42734 Johnson Lake Dr. 8A

According to the officials, the cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators were able to pinpoint the fire started in Jim and Phyllis Byrns' garage in their house at Kirby Point, but could not determine more due to the extent of the damage.

Strong winds from the south made control of the fire difficult and it spread from the Byrns’ home south, where it leveled out the cabin of Gordon Svoboda of Grand Island and north, were it damaged the two-story home of Brian and Dana Tonniges.

In addition to the fundraiser, accounts for the victims have been established at Pinnacle Bank in Lexington and Elwood.
