CONSERVE POWER USE!

Dawson Public Power District is urging customers to conserve power as hot temperatures and dry conditions are driving electric loads to new record levels. As a result, utilities are asking all customers to conserve electricity when possible, especially during late afternoon and early evening hours. Dawson's Engineering Manager Rob Ecklund adds that irrigators participating in the load management program should be aware that load management control may be needed on Sunday and the Fourth of July. Normally, there's no load management on Sundays or holidays. Ecklund says they encourage customers to check Dawson's website http://www.dawsonpower.com/ or listen to KRVN http://krvn.com/ for announcements.

Dawson PPD's customers set a new all-time high for electrical usage on Thursday, June 28 with a demand of 207,634 kilowatts. The system's peak demand during load management control is 125,326 kilowatts. That peak was set on Wednesday, June 27 at 8 p.m.
