We are still talking about the fun evening we had at the Johnson Lake Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours. We got to see and meet a lot of great people! Thank you for giving Bruning State Bank a warm welcome! We are excited to be a part of the Johnson Lake Chamber of Commerce. Below you will find some pictures of the event and a recap of the “spot light moment” highlighting the fact that we can now do leaseholds with Johnson Lake through the MPF Program. If you any questions or if we can help you out with any of your mortgage or Home Equity Line of Credit needs….we are just a phone call away (See attached flyer). One thing I can for sure say about Bruning State Bank’s Mortgage Department is that they are friendlyaccurate, and have a great turnaround time!

“Spot light Moment Recap”

Bruning State Bank now offers conventional financing with terms up to 30 years1 for residential leasehold properties at Johnson Lake. This is available through FHLB Topeka’s MPF® Program, which is a secondary market program with more flexibility than Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The entire process is done in-house, including underwriting, which enables us to close loans quickly and efficiently. We also retain the servicing on all MPF loans. You can feel confident that your loan will be processed in a timely manner by a qualified mortgage loan officer, and we’ll continue to take care of you long after your loan closes.

1Subject to the lease agreement; the loan must mature prior to the lease expiration date.

*Please see the attached flyers with our Mortgage Officer, Michaela Nielsen’s, information and a flyer for additional new mortgage products.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Here is a message from Ron Fowler, the liaison between JLDI and CNPPID.  Please pass this information on to people in your area of the lake.

Jean Edeal, Secty JLDI

From this morning’s CNPPID Board meeting they discussed the lake level and the way it came up on Monday.  They have been receiving lots of calls in Holdrege questioning if the lake was going to fill back up in a few days.  It is not.

The water that came in on Monday was the result of the ending of irrigation water being pulled from Plum Creek Canyon.  The level in Plum Creek Canyon was being kept high enough for irrigators that pumped from the lake and canal for their pumps to be in the water.  That irrigation ended at mid-night Sunday.  The “extra” water that was being held in Plum Creek was dumped into Johnson Lake on Monday (Plum Creek went down 3 ½ feet on Monday).  However that is all the water we will get for the next two weeks.  So  Johnson Lake should remain fairly steady…but at its current low level for the next two weeks and then slowly start to rise.  When the lake will be back to “normal level” is still uncertain.

Any big rain events could change the amount of water coming into the lake at any time.

Whatever we can do to spread this word will be helpful.  Perhaps forwarding this to the rest of the JLDI Board members will be helpful in getting the word around the lake as to what is going on.

Boat Parade Details -- Art & Wine Success

Johnson Lake Chamber summer events promote community support and involvement.

Johnson Lake, NE June 25, 2013

The Johnson Lake Chamber held its 2nd annual Art & Wine Festival June 8th, “We were able to raise over $12,000 (twice as much as last year) and we have the community and our corporate sponsors to thank, says committee chair, Patti Johnson. Monies will go toward providing equipment and training for the local Emergency Medical Services, the continuation of the Johnson Lake Hike & Bike Trail project, the 4th of July Fireworks Display and several other initiatives for the betterment of the community.

The Chamber recorded over 1500 visitors from 60 communities as well as residents from 16 states. “I speak for the Chamber when I say that this event is not easy to put together and without the efforts of our board, our members and the volunteers it would not have been so successful,” said Johnson.

The Festival attracted 20 renowned artists with a wide range of artistic venues. “We were happy to hear that our artists also increased their sales this year. Everything seemed to come together in spite of the weather, and we are really thankful for the low winds,” says Kevin Kunnemann, chamber president.

The Art & Wine Festival also featured Nebraska based food and wine vendors, “Providing our members the opportunity to gain visibility and promote their goods and services is one of our primary goals as an organization. The Art & Wine Festival is just one of the many functions the Chamber and local businesses support to better our community, said Kevin Kunnemann.

Another summer events at Johnson Lake is the Annual Patriotic Boat Parade and Dock Decorating Contest. “The event is held every 4th of July weekend and our turn out is a sight to see. We usually have between 25-40 boats and even jet skies go all out to display our countries independence,” Duane Kuhnel, chamber spokesperson. The event will begin Friday, July 5th at 10:00 (with registration and departure at LakeShore Marina Bar & Grille/C-Store). The dock decorating contest will be judged between 2-4 the same day and winners of the boat parade will receive cash & merchandise prizes and cash prizes will awarded to dock decorating winners.

For details on this event please contact Katy Fowler (308) 627-3895 or Bonnie Marshall(308) 233-7638.
