2019-11-14 Hamara Manch report on corruption in Hall mess management

Dear Friends,

Hamara Manch has been getting reports of increasing corruption in mess

management across halls for several months now. The most brazenly corrupt

practices reported were from Hall 8, and the following report is focused

on it; though it needs to be mentioned that Hall 8 is not an exception but

probably an extreme example. In the case of Hall 8, this has resulted in

the firing of a worker whose only fault was to speak up against corrupt

practices in the mess. Mr. Ravi* is an excellent worker, a fact which

has been vouched for by not only his fellow workers but also his

supervisors and students, so obviously there is no work related complaint

against him. His firing, therefore, raises very troubling questions which

we need to address collectively on an urgent basis.

Please find attached our report on this particular case. We have tried to

keep our report brief, but we have detailed documentary evidence for the

incidents reported therein.
