Mr. Singh,

Thank you so much for your email of 29th August addressed to M. Pierre Frederic Roulot, CEO, Louvre Hotels Group. At the outset, we appreciate your sentiments towards the workers at IIT K.

I have been a student too. We fully appreciate the fraternity feeling.

We’d like to bring you up to speed on some background. Sarovar Hotels was awarded the contract at IIT K post a formal tender process. We had made specific queries on existing staff during the process. We were clearly told that we have no obligation. And had total freedom to build a team. We have more than 10,000 people working across our hotels and institutions. We pride ourselves on providing efficiencies. We ensure people fit into our norms and our benchmarks. We reviewed all employees at IIT K. As of now, over 50% of old staff have been offered to join the Sarovar team.

We do hope you will appreciate our point of view. As an organization, we strongly care about people. And, at the same time, our deliveries to our customers, including IIT K.

With every good wish,

Ajay K. Bakaya
