2017-09-01 Institute Communique(s) to Alumni

Official Communique:

The contract for running institute VH was awarded to a new contractor this time. The new contractor initially wanted to start with his own workers instead of employing workers of the old contractor, however, after the intervention of the Director, he agreed to take about 40% of the old workers. The remaining workers were understandably aggrieved, and it led to an agitation on campus supported by some faculty and students. After several rounds of discussions, it was decided to accommodate the remaining workers elsewhere in the institute, thus bringing a conclusion to this saga.

During one of the meetings organized in support of the workers, the security overstepped its brief and tried to stop some alumni from joining the meeting. The Institute regrets this unfortunate incident and is putting in place mechanisms to avoid recurrence of this. The alumni of the institute are always welcome, and we hope that they will find improved services in the VH provided by the new contractor.

Official Communique:

A crisis, whenever it occurs, tests the alacrity and resilience of the organisation; and invariably teaches us a lesson or two to improve and emerge wiser and stronger for future. While disturbances are not at all desirable, the complex world that we live in now can always throw sudden and unanticipated challenges, that may appear large and daunting. However, none of them will prove insurmountable provided we remain united, loyal and committed to the Institution so dear to us, our alma mater.

On this count, I would finally request all of you to kindly be patient and understanding and allow the Institute to comprehensively handle any exigency that may arise in future.
