Hymdel is the aspect of truth, summer, light, and the sun. He is the ray of sunlight that pierces the veil of shadow. Seekers of truth revere him to lend them his power to reveal the truth behind lies. He supports those in need and opposes all that is evil, especially undead. As the aspect of the sun and summer, he is most commonly worshiped by humans and his priests are well received wherever they go. His commands are thus:

• Alleviate suffering wherever you find it and be watchful against evil.

• Bring Hymdel's light into places of darkness, showing kindness, mercy, and compassion.

• Oppose the necrotic powers of undead with the light of the sun.

The sun's influence and brilliance are obvious to all, acting as a daily reminder of Hymdel's power and beneficence. Hymdel extends its light to all just as he hopes his followers extend compassion to all. The sun also peels back the veil of night, and Hymdel's followers see in that a metaphor for the light they must bring to shadowy deeds and dark hearts. Hymdel brings focus to the cause of life by caring for the lives of good people and blessing those who show mercy, alleviate the suffering, and above all seek the truth of things. The light of magic is a powerful tool in the pursuit of truth, and thus Hymdel also has followers who dabble in the arcane arts.
