Punxsutawney Phil predicted a long, cold slog into spring and it sure feels that way. March's report cards, conferences and test prep further harsh my mellow. However, I have found a few things that help.
First is the amazingly wonderful AI graded assessments on Flight. Just look at these reports! I had my kids do the pre and post assessments for both Narrative and Argument units. Once you grade them (and honestly, I let the AI do all the work) you can go to the Dashboard, click on Reports and then Growth Reports to compare each pre/post. It also lists kids that are On Target and On Watch. You can click on individual kids to see side by side comparisons and graphs based on category, skill and standards. This is super useful to review when writing report cards and considering who might need some extra support in preparing for the ELA.
The first three show graphs based on Narrative and Argument Post Assessments. You can click to see student groupings as well as individual results. You can also get similar report based on a graded notebook assignment.
You can also view Proficiency Reports. The first is based on Post Assessments and the next is based on Literary Essay Pre Assessment. You can see student groupings, as well as individual results (in the last graph).
Importantly, this is where you can export the report to include in End of Year Folders!!
Peer Comments:
Kate, I may need to work on my resistance to AI feedback. This looks really helpful - for the students and for you! ~Syd
Kate - I MUST come sit with you one day to go over this! How accurate do you find the comments?
Kate- You have inspired me to give this a try next year!- Joann
