Our students are continuing to learn new letters and sounds each week. In addition to the letter sorts, we have created individual letter books as a class to help reinforce the beginning letter sound. As a class we brainstormed different things that start with that letter and each child is given the chance to pick one thing and illustrate it for our class book.

Each morning our students are able to grab these books and look at them before we start our day. They love looking at the books they created and finding their own page. It gave them ownership of that specific letter. We found that our students were more excited about learning each letter knowing we would be creating our very own class book. They also held onto taight letter lounds by remembering some of the pictures their friends illustrated.
