These two students were so happy with the experience of using their artistic skills to showcase what they learned about the people they interviewed at the Hebrew Home. My co-teacher and I agree that their posters showed a deep level of understanding of the people they met.
We created a bulletin board to showcase the interview work the students did. We also wanted to know how the students felt about the work they did. So we created the sheet below. We were impressed with how thoughtful the kids were about their thinking.
Questions included:
What is one thing you liked best about working in studios and why did you like it? Why?
In your next studio what might you try out that you did not try out this time? Why?
We found these reflections to be really powerful. Students were able to talk about what they are good at, what they enjoy, and also how they would like to push themselves the next time they explore this kind of work.

Jaime- I love this! Having students reflect gives them a voice in how they felt and also how we, as teachers, plan and improve upon what we do with them.
