Assignment 1: October 8th Problem of Practice:
What outcomes or improvements do you hope to see as a result of your research
This year, I am excited to participate in the Collegial Reading Research Group, where I will collaborate with colleagues to explore and implement play techniques designed to enhance my students' success. I am committed to integrating play into our learning experiences while also diligently assessing my students' reading progress. Recognizing the significance of incorporating play into education, I aim to equip my students with essential life skills from an early age. Skills such as taking turns and active listening are pivotal for their future success. By incorporating play techniques into my daily reading groups, I am dedicated to significantly improving my students' learning abilities and social skills. I am eagerly anticipating the guidance of Yvonne Liu-Constant, an esteemed author and educational specialist, as we work together to integrate play-based learning into our teaching practices.
Hi Collette,
It’s fantastic that you’re focusing on the power of play to build both academic and social skills in your students—taking turns and active listening are such important life skills to develop early on. I’m excited to see how your collaboration with Yvonne Liu-Constant will shape your approach! How do you envision tracking the impact of integrating play into your reading groups on both student engagement and learning outcomes? - Sue Luft
