Learning Objective:
To improve fine motor control control
To mark make in the sand
To develop pencil control
You will need:
tray with sand / flour
writing prompt cards
pencil control
felt pens
Learning activity:
Use the sand tray to make the rows for the little Red Hen to plant the wheat. Can you make different types of rows? (slanting, horizontal, curved)
Other ideas:
The children can practise their mark making skills on the pencil control sheets or maze sheets
some extra fun ;-)
Self-portraits
Using a mirror, let the child draw themselves. Point out facial features like eyebrows and eyelashes. If they draw their whole body, add in some fashion design! Don’t be surprised if your child takes some liberties, i.e. “Yes, I do have rainbow hair!"
