good morning giraffes
Have a super day :-)
Happy birthday Max!
mark making
Do the morning register - look at what day it is and and practise writing your name. Can you write your last name? Can you write your age?
Choose your favourite words - can you blend the sounds and form the letters.
You can either ask mum or dad to print a copy for you to write on, or you can make your own register to use at home.

Phonics
Below are three videos for your child to access when they are practising the speed sounds. The videos are purposely separated into three in order to support your child at the appropriate level. If you are unsure as to which video to use, please contact me via the learning log or email.
MTYT Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child needs to hear the sounds first and then repeat it after me
MTYT Set 1 Special friends: Use this video if your child needs to hear the special friends (digraphs) sounds first and then repeat it after me
Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child is confident practising the sounds independently without support
Once you have completed the appropriate speed sound video, please continue with the daily phonics learning video below.

Build the word. Say “I need…..” - ask your child to tell you the sound that you need and place the card down so that they can see it. Repeat with all the sounds in the word
Point to the sound and say the sounds (m-a-t) then sweep your finger under the word and say the word (mat)
Read the words (you can write them on paper or a whiteboard or use the teaching video as a reference)
Ask the children to say the sounds in Fred talk
Say the word out loud running your finger under the word
Math
Addition
Learning Objective:
To be able to count two groups of objects together to find the total number
To have an understanding that two numbers added together will make a new number
You will need:
A selection of ten small toys
Three small containers
A number line to the number 10 (this can be handwritten on a piece of paper to support your child’s learning)
Learning activity:
Divide the toys into two bowls and ask your child to count how many toys there are in each bowl
Ask your child to write down the number for each one of the groups on a piece of paper and place it in front of the bowl
If they need support use the number line to count until they reach the correct number and then copy the number from the number line.
Next: Ask your child to take all the toys and place them together in a different bowl
Focus on the language “putting or adding” the objects together so that we can find out the new number of the group
Write down the total number of the two groups that have been added together
Point out to your child that the total number is further along on the number line and therefore the number becomes bigger
Extension:
You can ask your child to pick two numbers on the number line
Repeat the process as before but this time count out the number of objects to match the number that has been chosen
Add the two groups together to find the new total
other ACTIVITIES...
Some everyday activities you can do with your child to help develop fine motor and pre-writing skills...
Work with clothing fastenings – buttons that are supposed to go into buttonholes or loops, zippers, snaps, ties, collar stays or button-down collars, and shoelaces...
