What are you thankful for?
mark making
Do the morning register - look at what day it is and and practise writing your name.
Choose your favourite words - can you blend the sounds and form the letters.
You can either ask mum or dad to print a copy for you to write on, or you can make your own register to use at home.

Can you retell the story of The Enormous Turnip? You might find these props useful..

Blending with Speed Sound Cards
Say the word clearly so that your child can hear it i.e., cat
Build the word. Say “I need…..” - ask your child to tell you the sound that you need and place the card down so that they can see it. Repeat with all the sounds in the word
Point to the sound and say the sounds (c-a-t) then sweep your finger under the word and say the word (cat)
Read the Green word cards (you can write them on paper or a whiteboard or use the teaching video as a reference)
Read the words with the children. Show them the dots and dashes and ask them if they can see any special friends
Ask the children to say the sounds in Fred talk
Say the word out loud running your finger under the word
Review the words with your child and support them to read the words without the dots and dashes

Clothesline
Learning Objective:
To develop your finger strength, dexterity and hand to eye coordination to support pre writing skills
You will need:
Piece of thick string
Clothespins
Pictures of clothes - children can draw and decorate the clothes and cut them out
Learning activity:
Make a clothesline by tying a piece of thick string to the handles of a wooden tray / or around the legs of a table or chair
Use the clothespins to attach the paper cut outs to the line
use their fine motor muscles to squeeze the clothespins to clip each piece of clothing to the clothesline
Other Activities:
Sound out and name the items on the line
Form the letter sounds on paper
Count the items on the line
some extra fun ;-)
Grow beans with cotton balls
This science experience will allow your children to observe the changes in plant growth over time. It may be difficult for kids to wait for their beans to start growing, but once it does you won’t be able to get them away from it!
You will need:
cotton balls (paper towels also work well)
bag of dried beans
clear container
water
First, invite your child to stuff the clear container with cotton balls. Then, invite him / her to place a few of the dried beans (lima beans etc) around the edges of the cup.
Finally, add just enough water to moisten the cotton balls being careful not to over water.
Your child will enjoy watering his / her seeds with a misting bottle which is also great for fine motor practice.
After only a few days, you will begin to notice some changes to the beans.
