Below are three videos for your child to access when they are practising the speed sounds. The videos are purposely separated into three in order to support your child at the appropriate level. If you are unsure as to which video to use, please contact me via the learning log or email.
MTYT Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child needs to hear the sounds first and then repeat it after me
MTYT Set 1 Special friends: Use this video if your child needs to hear the special friends (digraphs) sounds first and then repeat it after me
Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child is confident practising the sounds independently without support

today's fun challenge
FIREWORKS IN A JAR
Learning Objective
To further develop skills for:
Problem solving
Goal setting
Planning
To develop a sense of inquiry and make discoveries.
You will need:
16 oz. bottle (or similar)
Oil
Water
Food Colouring
Learning Activity
Fill your jar 3/4 of the way full with warm water.
In a separate bowl, mix a 3-4 tablespoons of oil and several drops of different colors of food coloring (around 4 drops of each color: red, yellow, blue, and green)
Use a fork to gently mix the oil and food coloring together.
Gently pour the oil mixture into the jar.
Watch what happens—the food coloring will slowly sink out of the oil and into the water. When this happens, it will expand and begin to mix with the other colors.
The Science Behind It:
Food coloring dissolves in water but not in oil. Because the oil is less dense than the water, it will float at the top. The colored droplets will begin to sink because they are heavier than the oil. Once they sink into the water, they will begin dissolving into the water (which looks like a tiny explosion).
do you remember.....
Have a super day everyone!
Fantastic learning today. Super proud of your effort.
Well done!
