I hope you have had a great weekend. It is hard to believe that we are already in week 3 of the Term.
Are you enjoying the stories that we are learning about?

Lets start our new weeks learning......
Being thankful

What are you thankful for?
morning register
Do the morning register - look at what day it is and see if you can find your name and practise writing it.
You can either ask mum or dad to print a copy for you to write on, or you can make your own register to use at home.

Over the last few weeks I have been practising my gross motor skills by doing headstands. Which skills have you been practising lately?
math
Learning Objective:
To recite numbers in order 1-10 and backwards 10-1
You will need:
Numbers 1 - 10 written on a large sheet
Selection of objects to match to the numbers
Learning activity:
Using your fingers, count from 1 - 10
Using your fingers , count backwards from 10 - 1
Refer to the number line - ask your child to point to the numbers as they count 1-10
Refer to the number line, ask your child: What number comes after / before - 5/ 6/ 7/ 8/ 9
Support your child to match correctly the number of objects to the digit on the number line. Begin at 1 and move forward depending on child's interest up to 10.
Count backwards 10 - 1
Other ideas:
Practise mark making the numerals 5 - 10 on a piece of paper
Vary the objects used in the activity i.e. favourite toys / buttons / pens
some extra fun ;-)
Be a super drummer;
Turn pots, pans, tupperware containers etc upside down and use wooden spoons as drum sticks – encourage them to make as much noise as they can! (You might want to wear ear plugs)
Other idea;
Ask your child to copy easy rhythms which you give them, such as tap fast - fast, slow, fast - fast, slow / quit - loud, quit - loud
