Tuesday

Good morning Giraffe Class

It's Tuesday again and that means it's time to get moving today! I hope you have had lots of sleep, a good breakfast and are feeling super strong and ready for the day. Let's go.....

Being thankful

Gerald Giraffe is thankful that he can move to his favourite music …

What are you thankful for?

  • Can you practise writing any of the sounds that we have learned?

  • What is your favourite sound and can you write it?

  • Can you find something that begins with the same sound?

  • Can you practise writing any number?

  • Can you find the same number of toys?

  • What number comes before this number?

  • What number comes after?

  • Can you practise writing your name?

  • Can you find something in your house that begins with the same sound as your name?

Other ideas:

  • Sit on the floor , roll the ball to your partner.

  • Throw a ball to your partner. Catch the ball with two hands.

  • Set up a variety of containers / sized balls to extend this activity.

  • Use numbers up to ten.

some extra fun ;-)

The sleeping song

Here are the short lyrics "Sleeping, sleeping, all the children are sleeping. And when they woke up, they were all ---." Fill in the blank with various animals, insects, or even stones, blocks etc and let their imagination run wild. Kids love acting like cats, snakes and even robots or babies!

As soon as one thing has run its course, begin the song again in a quiet voice as your child stops and pretends to sleep until the next thing is called. Keep cue cards for yourself, or let your child be the "caller". They can even help make the flashcards (ex. write "s" on one side, and on the other draw a picture of a snake). Keep the cards handy; they’ll want to play again and again.

Great LEARNING today giraffes!

Great work everybody! Have a super day and I look forward to seeing you to tomorrow for more fun learning :-)

Give yourself a 1-2

Well done you!
