Good morning Giraffe Class

Did you have a great weekend? I would love to hear what you did. You can ask mum or dad to write it into the learning log or share some photos in our Google album.

Let’s start today…

Dear Parents

At the top of the navigation bar we have added two new folders for you to access, one RWI Resources folder and one Other Activities folder. In the RWI folder you will find links to online phonics teaching, useful web pages and printable resources. The Other Activities folder has got a few examples of some extra fun activities you can share with your child. These activities are optional so please dip in and out of them as you wish. Above all, have fun spending this special time learning with your child :-)

What is GERALD the Giraffe doing today?

Tell mum or dad what you think Gerald the Giraffe is doing today.

You can send me a video clip or get mum or dad to write your ideas down in your learning log.

Watch this with your child in order to help you support them to retell the story.

Learning activity:

  • Read the story with your child. Use the pictures in the book to support your child retelling the story and ask them questions such as;

    • Who is the story about?

    • Why do you think Harry didn't want to go to the girls house?

    • What was the girl making? How did they catch the snake?

    • What happened in the end?

Other ideas:

  • Make your own swamp and act out the story using available props within your house

Super learning today Giraffe's!

Enjoy the rest of your day
