Creative - The Little Red Hen HAND PRINT

Learning Objective:

To be able to trace around your hand

To be able to decorate a hen using your creative skills and imagination

You will need:

  • Art and craft materials

Learning activity:

Support your child to trace the outline of their hand using a pen / felt tip etc. Color the hand print. Transform the hand print into a hen adding legs, beak, eyes, wings etc. You can use various materials to create the features such as felt tips, pencils, pens, paint, glue, glitter, paper etc. This activity can be created with just the basics, or with an assortment of materials if your child chooses to.

Other ideas:

  • Draw a setting for the Little Red hen such as the field, mill etc.

  • Use paint to make a hand print. Use art and craft materials to transform the hand print into a little red hen

Scavenger hunt

A fun activity to share with your family.

Take any theme, such as patterns, letters or colors and hunt around the house.

Make it official with a clipboard and check off items as you go.
