Monday
good morning giraffes!
Have a fabulous day :-)
mark making
Do the morning register - look at what day it is and and practise writing your name. Can you write your last name? Can you write your age?
Choose your favourite words - can you blend the sounds and form the letters.
You can either ask mum or dad to print a copy for you to write on, or you can make your own register to use at home.

story of the week
The Gingerbread Man
This week we are learning about the story of The Gingerbread Man.
Ask mum or dad or someone in your family to read the story on the PowerPoint to you.
Can you remember the two repeated refrains in the story? I'll give you a clue... One starts with "Stop!" and is what everyone says to the Gingerbread Man. The other starts with "Run, run...."
story of the day
Today’s story The Three Little Pigs is read to you by Miss Anna.
Phonics
Below are three videos for your child to access when they are practising the speed sounds. The videos are purposely separated into three in order to support your child at the appropriate level. If you are unsure as to which video to use, please contact me via the learning log or email.
MTYT Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child needs to hear the sounds first and then repeat it after me
MTYT Set 1 Special friends: Use this video if your child needs to hear the special friends (digraphs) sounds first and then repeat it after me
Set 1 Speed Sounds: Use this video if your child is confident practising the sounds independently without support
Once you have completed the appropriate speed sound video, please continue with the daily phonics learning video below.

CREATIVE
Sensory soap
Learning Objective:
Strengthen and develop fine motor skills
Develop creative skills
You will need:
1 box of soap flakes
4-5 jugs of warm water
powder paint, water based paint or liquid food colouring in various colours
a variety of whisks
a large, shallow tub / basin / sink
Learning activity:
The rotary whisk in particular offers a fantastic opportunity for both gross and fine motor skill development, as well as needing co-ordination, hand strength and thinking skills.
Pour 4-5 jugs of warm (hot) water into the basin
Add the soap flakes
Support your child to hold and use the whisk to mix the flakes and water together.
Encourage your child to make lots of bubbles
It takes a bit of mixing and whisking for all the flakes to fully melt into the water, but when they dissolve and the bubbles are formed, it turns into the most wonderful gooey, squidgy, smooth and marvelous substance!
Extension:
Add drops of food colouring to the mixture and mix the colours together.
other ACTIVITIES...
Some everyday activities you can do with your child to help develop fine motor and math skills...
Ask your child to help setting the table for family meals, counting and identifying shapes.
