Independent Work: Graphs and Tables of Inverses

• Today we are going to continue thinking about the special relationship that exists between two functions that are inverse functions. We are going to use what we know about the qualities of their function rules to make connections between the tables and graphs of inverse functions.

• Each person will receive a set of digital cards. You will have 5 minutes to individually match functions that you think could be inverses, based on the values in the table. Copy and paste the inverse functions into the appropriate box.

• Once the functions are matched with their inverses, you will explore their graphs. Using desmos, graph the function, the inverse, and the line y = x on the same graph and download and paste the graph into your document.

• When finished, answer the questions about your noticings.
