オープンアクセスにするには？

論文をオープンアクセスにするには、セルフアーカイブによって実現する方法（グリーンOA）と、学術雑誌自体をインターネット経由で誰もが無料で読めるようにする方法（ゴールドOA）があります。 ゴールドOAは、さらに学術雑誌の種類によってフルOA誌とハイブリッドOA誌に大別されます。

グリーンOA（グリーンオープンアクセス）
著者自らが自著論文をリポジトリなどに登録（セルフアーカイブ）することで、無料で公開する方法です。本学では、UTokyo Repositoryを運用し、グリーンオープンアクセスを実現できます。

ゴールドOA（ゴールドオープンアクセス）
著者等が論文出版料（APC： Article Processing Charge）を支払うことにより、学術論文を無料で読めるようにする方法です。一部の出版社については、本学のジャーナル契約に付随して、オープンアクセス誌掲載料（APC）の支援・免除・割引があり、主にハイブリッド OA 誌で論文をオープンアクセスとすることができます。

フルOA誌とハイブリッドOA誌とは？

・フルOA誌（フルOAジャーナル）：出版される論文のすべてがオープンアクセスで公開されるジャーナル。
・ハイブリッドOA誌（ハイブリッドOAジャーナル）：雑誌自体は有料の購読誌で、著者がAPCを支払った論文のみOAとするオプションを備えた雑誌。

Types of Open Access

How to make your work open access

There are two ways to make your work open access: by self-archiving (green OA) or by making the journal article itself available for free online (gold OA). Gold OA is further divided into full OA journals and hybrid OA journals, depending on the type of journal.

Green OA (Green Open Access)
This is a method of making your work freely available by depositing it in a repository (self-archiving). At University of Tokyo, we operate the UTokyo Repository, which makes Green OA possible.

Gold OA (Gold Open Access)
This is a method of making academic works available for free by having the author pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). For some publishers, APC support, exemption, or discounts are available through the university’s journal subscription agreements, and it is possible to make your work open access, mainly in hybrid OA journals.

What is the difference between full OA journals and hybrid OA journals?

・Full OA journal: A journal in which all articles are published online and openly accessible.
・Hybrid OA journal: A journal that operates using a paid subscription-based model but does give authors an option to choose to pay an APC to make their work available open access.
