研究データの管理

研究プロジェクトの開始時点から、研究データを一定のルールにしたがって適切に整理しておくと、自身や共同研究者が研究データを利用・再利用しやすくなります。具体的には、次の点に気をつけることが大切です。

• フォルダ構造

• ファイルの命名

また、READMEファイルなどを作成して、研究データの整理の基準を残しておくと、後に参照できて便利です。

研究データの保存環境

東京大学では、所属する個人に以下の環境が提供されています。ただし、卒業や学外への異動などにより東京大学に在籍しなくなると、これらの環境は利用できなくなります。事前にバックアップを取るなどの対応を行うと安心です。

• Googleドライブ（上限125GB）uteleconによるガイド

• OneDrive（上限50GB）uteleconによるガイド

• GakuNin RDM GakuNin RDMの説明 

  • 東京大学所属者（UTokyo Account所有者）は利用可能

  • NII（国立情報学研究所）が提供する標準ストレージ100GB

  • 普段使用しているクラウドストレージ（Google Drive、Dropboxなど）、ECCSクラウドストレージで利用できるGoogle Drive、Amazon S3やmdxのオブジェクトストレージ等を、GakuNin RDMに接続してストレージとして利用可能

研究データの保存時の注意点

• 機密性が高い情報を含む研究データは、オンライン上での保存は避ける。

• 複数のバックアップをとる 。

• バージョン管理を適切に行う。

• 特定の環境に依存せず、長期的に利用できることを念頭に、ファイルフォーマットを選択する。（例：仕様が国際標準。広く普及。）

3. Managing and Storing Research Data

Managing Research Data

Organizing research data properly according to established rules from the start of a research project makes it easier for you and your collaborators to use and reuse the data.

Specifically, it is important to keep the following points in mind:

• Folder structure

• Consistent file naming conventions

Additionally, creating a README file or similar documentation to record the criteria for organizing research data is helpful for future reference.

Data Storage Environments

The University of Tokyo provides the following environments to its members. However, if you are no longer affiliated with the University of Tokyo, for example due to graduation or transfer to an organization outside the university, you will no longer be able to use these environments. It is advisable to take precautions in advance, such as creating backups, to avoid potential issues.

• Google Drive (Up to 125GB) utelecon guide

• OneDrive (Up to 50GB) utelecon guide

• GakuNin RDM service overview 

  • Available to members of the University of Tokyo (UTokyo Account holders)

  • 100 GB of standard storage provided by NII (National Institute of Informatics)

  • Allows you to connect cloud storage services you use regularly (such as Google Drive and Dropbox), Google Drive available via ECCS cloud storage, as well as Amazon S3 and mdx object storage to GakuNin RDM, and use them as data storage.

Precautions for Storing Research Data

• Avoid storing research data containing highly confidential information online.

• Create multiple backups.

• Properly manage versions.

• Select file formats with long-term usability in mind, avoiding dependence on specific environments (e.g., widely adopted international standard formats)
