Ashley Lopez, class of 2024, is one of the funniest girls you'll ever meet. She brings nothing but good vibes around and big, beautiful smiles from her peers and teachers. This is her first year as a journalist student. This year Ashley has a goal equally as big as the smiles she brings around. Her goals are that her peers feel comfortable and welcomed in the environment of David Douglas High School. She strongly believes that a new opportunity was given to all students this year to start over and build themselves up from zero. After all the sudden changes and new adaptations, Ashley worries that some students might feel lost and not interested in hobbies they had before the school shut down. These feelings are valued. We want to make sure everyone finds a place in our school again where they feel safe, where you can be yourselves and really figure out what that means to you! Ashley wants to start this environment, one person at a time. In an attempt to find her safe place, Ashley will be writing for the newspaper this year. She doesn't want to miss out on this opportunity to figure out where she belongs in our school.
