The boys's soccer team is ranked 48 after a tie with the No. 33 ranked Southridge Skyhawks at home on Sept. 20.

The Scots were the first to score 32 minutes into the game after a perfectly placed corner straight to the head of a Douglas player that bounced off the post before going in. The Scots held the lead for the full first half, thwarting many close attempts on the goal.

In the second half, David Douglas managed to hold Southridge off for a few minute,s but the Skyhawkes broke through and scored with 37 minutes remaining in the second half, after a series of saves by junior Isaac Hutchinson. After a lackluster back and forth between both teams, followed by a dive-save from Hutchinson, David Douglas scored after a breakaway that led to a ripper into the back of the net. Southridge responded immediately off the kickoff with a goal of its own, rushing past David Douglas’ defense and smashing the ball into the back of the net.

The last 17 minutes of the game were scoreless, but most of the fouls and injuries occurred during this time. With 11 minutes remaining, sophomore Luong Lam was down for multiple minutes after a hard collision with a Skyhawk. This was followed by senior Chala Kamal also colliding with a Skyhawk. He was escorted off the field by athletic trainer Brent Marshall. With four minutes remaining, senior Brian Canella Portillo was also hurt and removed from the field.

The game ended 2-2, giving David Douglas its first tie. The Scots are currently 1-8-1 overall, and 1-2 in MHC.
