Cheer has kicked off its season with a great start, recently cheering at football games every Friday night, loud and proud for the Scots, win or lose.
Varsity and JV are currently getting ready for their Game-Day competition where they’ll be showcasing a few moves they do on the sidelines at games. Varsity is preparing for the Mt. Hood Conference, All-state individual, and Stunt Group competitions. At these competitions, cheer athletes have the opportunity to make the Conference and All-State teams. They also have the possibility to win scholarships.
“I think our biggest challenges have been recovering from not having a normal season last year, as well as being flexible with all of the rules, regulations, and quarantines that come along with navigating the Covid 19 Pandemic,” said cheer coach Mikyla Pruett.
Coach Pruett would like to add that JV winter season tryouts are approaching in the first week of November. The cheer team would love to welcome hardworking students to come out and represent David Douglas in the best way possible.
