David Douglas 17-year-old junior La'Marcus Brazile was tragically killed and three others were injured, including another DDHS student, as the result of a drive-by shooting near the intersection of Southeast 162nd Avenue and Stark Street on April 17.

Portland Police officers from the East Precinct were dispatched on Sunday, April 17, at 8:43 p.m., on the report of a shooting in the 500 block of Southeast 162nd Avenue. When they arrived they located a male who was deceased and three juvenile males who had also been shot. The three surviving victims were transported to area hospitals, one with life-threatening injuries and the other two with non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the victims, including Brazile, were DDHS students while the other two victims attended Centennial High School. All the victims were male, ages 14, 15, 16, and 17 years old.

The Portland Police Homicide Unit has responded to investigate, but there has not been any suspects released to the public.
