Both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams have 1-1 records after partaking in a DD-hosted jamboree Dec. 3-4.

The girls’ team lost their first game against Tigard 61-38 on Dec. 3. Then they won their second game against Aloha 40-25 on Dec. 4.

“We are looking forward to a great season with many returning junior and senior athletes on our team,” said coach Heather Marshall. “All of the athletes on the Women’s basketball program have been working hard in practice.”

The boys’ team, similar to the girls, lost their first game against Tigard 77-44 on Dec. 3. In their second game against Newberg, they won 72-41. Boys’ coach Chad Reeves mentioned that junior 6-foot forward Prince Hale did well defensively and was able to take charge during the games.

“The jamboree showed us that we still have plenty of things to work on,” said Reeves. “It is good to get a realistic feel of a game before the season start. We are starting to see some improvement and are trying to work on some consistency.”
