There were many survey recommendations for PBOT, including removing on-street parking on both sides of the street, which would give more space for existing bike lanes. Adding bus platforms was also recommended, as was building a center median. A center median would help manage vehicles making left turns onto side streets or into driveways, keeping the road more safe.

Mill Park's development set to begin

Mill Park, an area of 5.7 acres within the David Douglas district, will begin development at S.E. 117th Avenue and Mill Court in East Portland, announced Portland Parks Commissioner Carmen Rubio and Portland Parks and Recreation (PP&R).

Students exempt from essential skill proficiency testing

Students across Oregon will not be required to demonstrate proficiency of Essential Skills to graduate for at least the next three school years.

When students think they have a cold, should they come to school or should they assume it is Covid?

"Ever heard the saying about the word “assume”? If not, you should Google it! This is not an easy question to answer. I think by now, we all know about the primary symptoms of COVID (fever, loss of taste or smell, congestion, headache, GI upset, breathing problems), and we also know that it is an ever evolving virus. I would say that if you are fully vaccinated with mild cold symptoms, and you have not had a known exposure to a COVID positive person, you could come to school. If you are unvaccinated, then I would be more cautious, and recommend a COVID test to rule out infection."
