Track and Field tames the Canby Cougars

With their first day of practice on Feb. 28, the track season officially began, with a home victory over Canby High School on March 15.

Golf starts MHC League strong

Both the boys’ and girls’ golf teams started the spring season strong with Mount Hood Conference (MHC) League matches hosted by Central Catholic and Clackamas on March 16-17.

Baseball defeats Benson 9-1 in first home game victory

Wrestling takes first in MHC

Of the 22 David Douglas wrestlers competed, 19 made their way onto the podium and 11 qualified for the state tournament by placing in the top three. Five wrestlers claimed first place.

Scots swim teams are MHC champions

“Both squads swam very well. As a group every kid put in great effort and raced to the best of their ability. We will compete this weekend at state. I am hoping we can have a top 10 performance for both teams. Most of these kids that have qualified for state are kids who have made tremendous commitment to be the best they can be. Girls' basketball comes up just short, 49-43, against Rams on Senior Night

The girls' basketball team lost 49-43 on Feb. 18 due to being out-shot by the Central Catholic Rams during Senior Night, the last home game of the season.

Brad Joy to become new Athletic Director beginning the 2022-23 school year

Joy's coaching experience includes football, tennis, and wrestling. He coordinated the youth and middle school football programs and is the middle school wrestling coordinator.

Boys' basketball posts its first home win

Consistently strong defense paired with bursts of overpowering offense allowed the boys’ basketball team to win its first home game against the Sunset Apollos, 63-43, on Dec. 10.

Water polo secures narrow victories

“[Our strengths are] our swimming abilities, especially against a lot of the teams we are playing, we are much better swimmers. We’re faster in the water. Our weaknesses are just our ball handling, passing and shooting, when it involves the ball we’ve got a long ways to go. But moving up and down the pool, they do pretty well. Our ultimate goal [is] to qualify for state tournament and play well at the state playoffs."

Young boys' soccer team 1-8-1

The boys's soccer team is ranked 48 after a tie with the No. 33 ranked Southridge Skyhawks at home on Sept. 20.

Volleyball still competitive in each division

After roughly two months of playing, the volleyball teams have remained high on the brackets for each division level. The varsity, JV, and JV2 volleyball teams played against Clackamas on, Sept. 22 . Varsity started off strong, but eventually lost all three matches to Clackamas.

Cross country looking to increase number of team members

Coach Isaac Frederick is looking for more distance runners. The team consists of 18 runners: 11 boys and 7 girls. Frederick would like 36 runners, from freshman through seniors.

This year's show theme for the dance team is Desolate, and the Tams are excited to show off their state routine
