Using layered transparency sheets, photography and text, my work is a commentary on belonging in a country with no definite cultural identity. As the three photos gradually degrade opacity behind the question ‘who do you think you are?’ I attempt to portray the perpetual dissensions between multiple identities we are forced to assume between ethnicity and nationality. The title becomes an answer to the question posed – we see that our identity fails to belong anywhere.
