The gas mask motif, comic stylings and use of typography to assist in the aesthetic qualities of the piece are reflective of the turbulent year we have all faced. I wanted to create an artwork with imposing composition and ominous subject matter and meaning. Using a digital drawing platform allowed me to change and alter colours to ensure I was able to express the feelings I had during the year.
