Students studied traditional methods of Japanese art making, including Hugi ceramics and the ancient shibori dyeing method. Using only a cool colour palette, students tied off their fabric piece using a repetitious design, and applied the dye. The finished panels were glued and pinned together to create a modern day version of a kimono - in keeping with the Japanese influence of the task.
