After viewing a range of photographs, picture story books and artworks containing images of sunsets/sunrises, students were challenged to create their own. They selected three colours and created their sunrise/sunset using the technique of torn collage. Following this, they chose an animal silhouette, cut it out and collaged it with a dark colour using the same technique. This was then added to the sky piece along with a piece of dark paper to represent the ground.
