I depicted the subject matter of the torso of a headless figure that is made from recycled plastic bags. My focus through this artwork was to show people all the natural beauty that is being destroyed because of the person who is viewing the artwork. This is achieved through the headless silhouette of a body as it could be anybody as everybody is responsible for the destruction of nature. The plastic bags are recycled and communicate the idea that plastic is overtaking individuals' lives as they contribute to roughly the equivalent to the mass of two thirds of the world’s population. This is shown as the plastic takes up the majority of the artwork. The warm tones that come from the chest of the body create emphasis and point out the importance of the environment for our vital organs. Without the care of the environment we are ultimately not caring for ourselves as the environment feeds us oxygen to our lungs and allows us to live.
