This is my embroidery product that I created during year 9 Textiles and Design. My inspiration for this piece is the word revive. The word “revive” appears through the gaps among the flowers. Revive is the strong desire against suffering pain both physically and mentally with no hesitation, developing and being reborn as a better, stronger self. I want to encourage viewers to never give up and always try hard, to be brave and have confidence just like the blooming flowers. For my materials, I had used calico fabric, an embroidery frame, an embroidery needle and different colours of stranded cotton thread. I utilised a variety of stitches to create a sense of layering.
The heart is one of the most important organs in our human body. In this product, the heart represents life, delicate but beautiful. The heartbeat is the testimony to our fresh and vibrant lives. This art work contains many flower elements, to establish the idea of refreshing blossom flowers after the cruel, frozen winter. The flowers also represent the beauty of life which helps revive us and keep us going. This product is very dear to my heart as I spent many hours creating and perfecting it.
