During remote learning, we looked at the wonderful work of Australian Artist May Gibbs. We studied her bush babies and in particular looked at a painting she completed in 1919 during the Spanish Flu epidemic. This picture features a kookaburra wearing a gumleaf as a facemask. Our challenge was to be resourceful using only what was available to us to create our own bush babies. This collection of bush babies was created in stages using gumnuts and gum leaves whilst working from home.
