In making this ceramic art piece, I used Raku clay and applied coloured underglaze and a clear glaze on top to refine the piece. Having based my work on the theme of poverty, Weight of the World unveils the injustices of the extreme wage disparity through the juxtaposition of living conditions. It also highlights how often the wealthy are dependent on those with lower economic status to maintain their affluence, especially through immoral methods.
