Placement of only affects the meaning.

To modify the meaning of a word, phrase, or subordinate clause, only is placed just before it:

            Only Lynne Warren could open the door. (no one else)

            Lynne Warren could only open the door. (not shut it)

            Lynne Warren could open only the door. (nothing else)

May be hyphenated in compound modifiers for clarity or readability:

            eel-only restaurant

             rice-only diet
