CONTINUED NOTE

If running text is organized in large blocks or full pages and a reader would have little difficulty in identifying a continuation across several pages of illustrations, continued notes typically are not necessary.

When text is interrupted by six or more pages of illustrations—and the continuation is not clear—consider using a continued note, in italics, within parentheses:
