4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 cups marinara sauce
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the Chicken: Sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 3–4 minutes per side until golden. You don't need to fully cook the chicken at this point.
Assemble the Dish: Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the seared chicken on top, then pour the remaining marinara sauce over it. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and golden.
Garnish and Serve: Let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve hot with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
