From the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Tim Comey played his youth club soccer for the Kensington Ramblers. Comey would then become an All-Catholic, All-City & All-Scholastic soccer selection for North in 1987. He was team Captain and the engine of the team from his central midfield position. He was also an All-Catholic basketball player for North who played on the PCL champs in 1987 & PCL finalist in 1988.
Tim Comey would join his older brother and fellow Hall of Famer Jack Comey at St Joseph’s University where he was a four year soccer player from 1988 through 1991 seasons under Coach Tom Turner. Tim led the Hawks in assists with 4 during the 1989 season and was later named team co-MVP in 1990. Tim was also selected team Captain for the Hawks for the 1990 & 1991 seasons when he was joined by fellow Falcon Hall of Famers Don D’Ambra & John McIntyre.
Tim went on to play Major Men’s club soccer with Danubia. The Comey Family now has 3 brothers in the NC Soccer Hall of Fame with Tim, Jack and Matt. Tim credits his brother Kevin for inspiring him to continue on in soccer after he had to quit the team after sophomore year to concentrate on baseball & basketball.
