GERALD McGOVERN, '67

Jerry McGovern hails from the Kensington section of Philadelphia. He attended ???? grade school before entering North in 1963. As a youth he began playing soccer for Kensington Ramblers Soccer Club.

At North Catholic McGovern was a 3 year varsity player under Fr McLernan and also Coach Chick Fallon. The Falcons won 3 PCL titles in 1964, 65 & 66. After his senior season Jerry was named All-Catholic as well as All-Scholastic.

After graduating McGovern went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War receiving numerous awards for his military service. Jerry died in 2005 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Maureen who accepted this award in his honor.
