From the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Jack Comey played his youth club soccer for Kensington Ramblers. He was a defensive stalwart for the Falcons and was an All-Catholic, All-City & All-Scholastic selection for North in 1985.
Comey would go on to play College soccer at St Joseph’s University where he was a four year starter. Jack was also a two-time Philadelphia Soccer Seven selection. In his senior season (1989) Comey led the team in goals with 6. He was named SJU’s Team MVP and was named a Regional All-American selection in 1989 as well. Comey is also 6th All-Time at SJU for assists in a season with 6 in 1988.
Jack would later play semi-pro soccer for the Philadelphia Future from 1990 through 1992. In 1998 Jack Comey opened a popular Restaurant called “Liberties” in the Northern Liberties section of the city with several fellow Falcon businessmen. Comey was also enshrined in the SJU Soccer Hall of Fame.
