Dean Niedosek was a 4 year varsity player while at North. The 6’2” midfielder helped lead North Catholic to two straight undefeated PCL seasons. He was a captain on both of these teams. He also played on 3 PCL Championship teams (1999, 2001 & 2002). Dean scored the game winning goal in front of 2,500 people at Ryan’s Field on a spectacular head ball to defeat St Joes Prep 3-2 in the 2002 Final. Neidosek tallied a team-high 17 goals as a senior, earning him All-Area and All-Catholic League honors.
As a junior he earned Second team All-Catholic League honors. He ranked 5th in his graduating class and was a Diocesan Scholar. Dean was also the first freshman to ever score a varsity goal for North Catholic in the program's storied history. The Port Richmond native also played basketball and golf for the Falcons and recorded the only hole-in-one during a Catholic League match.
Neidosek went on to play Collegiate soccer at St. Joseph’s Univ. As a freshman, he scored a goal in 2-1 win over Detroit Mercy. As a Sophomore Neidosek made 10 starts with appearances in 11 matches. He also earned spots on both the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and SJU Athletic Director's Honor Roll as a Political science major. Dean sat out the 2005 season due to injury but returned to form as a senior in 2006. He was tied as the Hawks second-leading scorer with a career-best three goals. He tallied two goals in the first three games of the year and he scored the game-winner against Philadelphia Soccer Seven rival La Salle. Neidosek was also the SJU Co-captain in 2006.
Dean and his wife had their first child in 2016.
