Dennis “Buff” Drumm was a 3 year Varsity player while at North. As a senior, during the 1970 season, Drumm was part of a Falcon team that won a share of the Bulletin Trophy which is given to the best HS soccer team in the City of Philadelphia. North and Frankford played to a scoreless tie that year to share the trophy. This team also was PCL Champs by defeating Cardinal Dougherty for the crown. Drumm was named 1st team All-Catholic & 1st team All-City after the season.
Drumm went on to play D-1 College soccer at Philadelphia Textile U (now Phila. U) in the early 1970s. Playing alongside fellow Falcon Soccer Hall of Famer Richie Sheridan, they were part of teams that were often ranked in the nation’s top 20. After College Drumm became a soccer coach at Philadelphia Community College and Beaver College (now Arcadia) in the late 70s.
Drumm returned to North as an assistant Coach under Jerry Brindisi from 2000 until the school closed in 2010. During that time Dennis helped the Falcons to 4 more PCL crowns and one City Title when it resumed in 2008. Today Dennis Drumm is the boys head soccer coach of Franklin Towne Charter School inside the Frankford Arsenal. Last year (2012) his team reached the Public League finals.
