Chinavia rinapsa (Dallas)

Rhaphigaster rinapsus Dallas, 1851: 277.

Coloration. Predominatly green. Scutellum with four irregular yellow dots on the basis. Some individuals with a long yellow band extending to the middle of the pronotum. The lateral margins of juga black, and margins of pronotum yellow, both followed by a red band. The connexivum and urosternite are yellow. Black macula in the posterolateral angles of connexivum and urosternite. Legs completely green. Head. Margins of juga with a strong concavity in front of eyes, apex of head large and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments. I<II<III>IV>V. Rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments. I<II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum without a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third urosternite reaches the metacoxae. Spiracles yellow surrounded by a yellow callus.

Distribution. Nigeria, Benin, Guinea, Benin, Central African Republic, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone.

Families of plants as possible hosts. Euphorbiaceae (Alene et al. 2005).

Comments. It can be confused with C. fieberi, but C. rinapsa has the legs completely green and connexivum yellow, while C. fieberi has the apex of tibiae red and connexivum red.
