Chinavia ista (Rolston)

Acrosternum (Chinavia) istum Rolston, 1983: 121-123, fig. 49.

Coloration. Predominantly green. The lateral margins of juga and pronotum are green, followed by an orange band. Mesopleura brown. Connexivum orange and urosternites yellow. Black macula in the posterolateral angles of connexivum and urosternite. Head. Margins of juga with a strong concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II≈III<IV≈V. Rostrum reaches the metacoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II≈III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum with a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third ursoternite reaches the mesocoxae. Spiracles brown surrounded by a green callus.

Distribution. Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela.

Host plants. No information available.

Comments. It can be confused with C. marginata in some locations. But the size of the abdominal spine differentiates these species.
