Chinavia acuta (Dallas)

Rhaphigaster acutus Dallas, 1851: 277.

Coloration. Predominantly green. Pronotum with black spots and yellow spots across the scutellum. Lateral margins of juga and pronotum yellow, followed by an orange band. Scutellum with four irregular yellow dots on the basis. Scutellum apex red. Connexivum green and urosternites yellow. Black macula present in posterolateral angles of connexivum and urosternite. Head. Margins of juga with slight concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II<III<IV≈V. Rostrum reaches the mesocoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II>III>IV. Thorax. Humeral angle developed into a spine, with red coloration. Anterolateral margins of pronotum with submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third urosternite doesn’t reache metacoxae. Spiracles green surrounded by a yellow callus.

Distribution. Mali, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, Central African Republic, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Glorioso Islands, Madagascar.

Families of plants as possible hosts. Anarcadiaceae (Agboton et al. 2014, as Acrosternum acutum), Euphorbiaceae (Material examined), Fabaceae (Material examined), Malvaceae (Material examined), Poaceae (Golding 1931, as Acrosternum acutum).
