Chinavia difficilis (Stål)

Rhaphigaster difficilis Stål, 1860: 23.

Coloration. Predominantly green. Lateral margins of juga and pronotum green. Colored bands are yellow. Conexivum green, urosternites yellow. Black macula present only in urosternites. Head. Margins of juga with a strong concavity in front of eyes, apex of head broadened and semicircular. Proportion of antennal segments: I<II<III<IV<≈V. Rostrum reaches the mesocoxae. Proportion of rostral segments: I<II>III>IV. Thorax. Anterolateral margins of pronotum without a submarginal dorsal depression. Hemelytra with costal angles slightly obtuse. Membranal suture convex. Abdomen. Medial spine of third urosternite reaches and never surpasses mesocoxae. Spiracles black surrounded by a green callus.

Distribution. Brazil (SP*, RJ, SC).

Host plants. No information available.

Comments. The black spiracles and medial spine of third urosternite never surpassing mesocoxae are characters that distinguish C. difficilis from Chinavia obstinata Stål and Chinavia napaea Stål.
